Overview
Students investigate different components of soil (sand, clay, and silt) in order to determine how those components affect the water retention capabilities of each. This investigation will enable the students to discover which soil component (sand, clay, and silt) retains water best in order to support plant growth and survival. Students will investigate the question: “How do the physical properties of sand, silt, and clay affect their ability to hold water?”
