Overview

In this inquiry lesson, students will be investigating projectile motion through catapult construction and manipulation. Independent variables they may choose to explore include: composition of projectiles, size of projectiles, and angle of release. Dependent variables they may choose to measure include trajectory speed and distance. This is an open inquiry lesson, so rather than giving students a question to investigate, you will facilitate them creating their own testable questions about transformations and planning their own procedures for investigating their questions.
