Overview

In this inquiry lesson, students will be investigating and analyzing transformations on a coordinate plane. Students are required to know four types of transformations: translation, rotation, reflection, and dilation. Students will use polygon shapes (rectangles, triangles, squares, etc) on a coordinate plane and apply transformations to those shapes. This is an open inquiry lesson, so rather than giving students a question to investigate, you will facilitate them creating their own testable questions about transformations and planning their own procedures for investigating their questions.
