Overview
In this inquiry lesson, students will be investigating solubility by changing features in the solvent (water temperature), the solute (size of particles), and the environment (shaking the container). Students are required to understand what solubility is and to know vocabulary associated with it, as well as to be familiar with experimentation. This is an open inquiry lesson, so rather than giving students a question to investigate, you will facilitate them creating their own testable questions about solubility and planning their own procedures for investigating their questions.
