Overview

This lesson will engage students in an open inquiry lesson related to popcorn. Students will pose their own questions about the properties and behaviors of popcorn and do brand comparisons as appropriate. They will design a procedure for investigation, collect data, and analyze it to answer their question. They will build measuring skills and work on data organization and representation using tables and graphs. The lesson emphasizes the collaborative nature of science and the importance of communication.
